When I awoke, it was like, 'What happened?'…Luke is completely exhausted emotionally. "I think ultimately it would've been nice to have a neat little package at the end where they make up," he said, adding, "her goodbye, I wasn't even conscious. Luke and Jessica didn't part on the best of terms, which was hard for Colter and Ritter. One person we will see again? Mike Colter's Luke Cage, who is getting his own Netflix series. But the show is called Jessica Jones and the story is about Jessica's arc and how does that play out in its best form?" He's such an extraordinary character and one of the loveliest people you'd ever want to work with. Said showrunner Melissa Rosenberg, "Sure, when you have David Tennant, you want him around forever. That said, we probably won't see Tennant again-despite how much everyone loved him. As Loeb himself said, "One of the things that's important about any Marvel show is your hero is often defined by how strong your antagonist is." The trauma should carry over into season two-but it'll be hard to top David Tennant's supremely evil Kilgrave as a villain. I think that her headspace is really complex." I was going to say morning but she gets up in the afternoon…it really gave her a purpose and I don't think the past trauma goes away with his death. "It already came out! Oh crap," she joked before continuing, "I found that very conflicting in terms of Jessica Jones' headspace because he's the reason why she got up every day. "For Jessica, that final moment, that victorious triumphant moment when she kills Kilgrave," said star Krysten Ritter, the titular superhero who can rock jeans and a black leather jacket like nobody's business. Hey, wait, spoiler alert! "We're at that stage of just going, 'Yay!'"īut in the meantime, they were happy to discuss their pretty much universally loved first season-especially that bombshell ending. "The best part about it is that we've learned about the pickup about when you guys learned about it," revealed executive producer Jeph Loeb. But because the cast and creators of the superhero show found out around the same time the rest of us did, they couldn't actually spill any details at their panel at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour on Sunday. More names will begin arising soon, and we’ll cover them as we hear them.Pour yourself a glass of celebratory bourbon, because Marvel's Jessica Jones is coming back to Netflix for season two. ![]() I’ll be totally honest, I have no experience with either actor, but it sounds like this search is really only in its infancy. Meanwhile, Cage – who is apparently set to appear in about half of the “Jessica Jones” series – has two names being considered: Mike Colter (“The Good Wife”) and Lance Gross (“Crisis”). ![]() Palmer’s actually pretty gifted as well – she brings a lot of charm to some pretty one-note roles – and De Gouw…well, the less said about her the better, as her Huntress in “Arrow” was the worst character the show ever had, but I’m personally rooting for Ritter or Daddario. Meanwhile, Daddario’s role in “True Detective” as the fly in Woody Harrelson’s ointment Lisa makes her an actress to watch, and someone who would also fit the feel of the role well. Ritter’s mostly known as a comedic actress, but her work as Jesse Pinkman’s lady love Jane on “Breaking Bad” is a pretty good recipe for Jones. The character at her best is caustic, effective and pretty damn broken, and of the four, Ritter and Daddario stand out the most. The series, which is being fueled by showrunner Melissa Rosenberg, will follow the path of the old Bendis and Gaydos joint “Alias” as Jones working as a private detective after a traumatic conclusion to her superhero career. The rest? Not so much.īut there’s finally movement on that horizon, as Deadline reported that Marvel has cast their all-seeing eye on four actresses for the role of Jessica Jones and two (amongst likely others) for Cage.įor Jessica Jones, they’re looking at Krysten Ritter (“Breaking Bad”), Alexandra Daddario (“True Detective”, “Percy Jackson) series), Teresa Palmer (“Warm Bodies”) and Jessica De Gouw (“Arrow”). So far, “Daredevil” has been the only series that has had any real movement, as it’s currently being filmed for a 2015 release and has a pretty damn fantastic cast. As part of Marvel’s big Netflix roll out on their street level characters, five series were going to be made: “Daredevil”, “Iron Fist”, “Jessica Jones”, “Luke Cage” and a big “Defenders” series to wrap those four all together.
